Childcare During Conferences
Some researchers, speakers and attendees can only attend conferences or other events if they can bring their children with them. This is why the childcare option will be available at the SIGMOD/PODS 2024 Conference, making an important contribution to the reconciliation of professional and family demands.
Guidelines for Providing Childcare During Conferences
The availability of childcare should be indicated on the conference registration form.
If you select the childcare service during registration, you will receive an online survey. This survey will ask for details of your child's age and the desired hours of childcare. Parents must be informed that the childcare service does not include civil liability insurance, and that they will have to sign a liability waiver form before the childcare service can begin.
Experience has shown that some parents cancel at a late stage or that new requests for childcare come in late. Please prepare for this in your planning.
The childcare service is free of charge at the SIGMOD/PODS Conference 2024.
The childcare service will be located in the Manquehue Room on the 2nd floor of the Intercontinental Hotel.
Important Requirements:
- Only children who are potty-trained and can walk are accepted.
- Children must have parents registered at the SIGMOD/PODS Conference 2024.
- Parents must be available via WhatsApp.
- The service does not include food, so please provide food that your children prefer in a bag labeled with your child's name.
- Childcare services are available only during the conference program at the Intercontinental Hotel. This service is not available during receptions, night events, or the banquet.
Remember:
- Prior to the start of childcare, parents must sign a liability waiver form.
- Childminders must be able to contact parents at any time during the conference, so please keep your cell phone available via WhatsApp.
