Conference Venue
The 2024 ACM SIGMOD/PODS Conference will be held in the Intercontinental Santiago, located in Las Condes, just near the Parque Metropolitano, the biggest metropolitan park in Santiago de Chile. Thanks to a sophisticated underground metro system, different parts of the city can be accessed with relative ease. Line 1 of the system, located just a few minutes walk from the Venue, connects to the old part of the Santiago and touristic points of interest, such as the presidential palace, La Moneda.
About Santiago
Santiago is a distinguished city in cultural, gastronomic, and socio-political terms. It is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the region, thanks to the continuous immigration of Peruvians, Colombians, Venezuelans, and Haitians in recent decades. All of these communities, along with that of the indigenous people, are represented in the culture of the city, and mainly in its cuisine, which has positioned itself among the most varied in the region. And, of course, some of the strong points here are the fish, seafood, and wines: really, really very good if you know where to go. We have received many visitors in Santiago during all these years, and they have all been fascinated.
